1996 Chrysler Sebring
Closely following Chrysler's initial offering, the 1995 Chrysler Sebring, the
1996 model came barely a year of its predecessor. Horsepower of the V6 was increased
from 155 to 163 hp. There are no externally visible changes in the engines between
the 1995 and 1996 models, and Chrysler has been hesitant to reveal where the horsepower
boost up came from. Either the same engine was simply re-rated or perhaps there
might have been some changes in the electronics that controlled the fuel management.
The optional dash-mounted Infinity CD player now contains a cassette, and if
the CD player is dealer installed in the trunk, the cassette unit now includes
switches to control the trunk-mounted CD player the universal garage door opener
is now built into the sun visor, and standard on the LXi model. As proven in the
years to come, the Sebring continually evolves to present the highest quality
in rides with the hefty price tag removed.
